‘Breaking Bread’ celebrates food across the city of Birmingham and hosts Liam and Carl ‘break bread’ with people across the food scene. In this episode they meet chef David Taylor. David started his career at Michelin Star Gordon Ramsey restaurant Maize in London. After a tough learning experience, he returned home to Brum. Under the mentorship of Glynn Purnell David flourished, working his way up to the position of sous chef.

David left Purnells hungry to experience other cuisines & cultures. His first stop was the windy city of Chicago before heading to the big apple, the young chef learning at Michelin-star kitchens along the way. At the heart of Hampton Manor, Victorian walled garden is the lavish Grace & Savour – David’s restaurant. The converted barn is a temple of seasonal, sustainable dishes. The fifteen-course tasting menu has been created with love and respect for the farmers and producers who join David on his mission to create the best dishes in a sustainable & eco-sympathetic way. In this episode David speaks about his passion for food and the importance of sourcing ingredients.
