Thinking of becoming a farmer? Rich loves farming, he says “it’s such a rewarding job”. Watch as he takes you on a whistle-stop tour of a year as a beef farmer, from calving to harvesting.
Rich highlights that a career in beef farming doesn’t mean you’ll be feeding, bedding, and mucking out all the time. With exciting advancements in the industry, there are opportunities to explore genetics, technology, and engineering all from the farmyard.

Rich Heady is a mixed farmer in Buckinghamshire. He has cattle, sheep, and crops on his farm. Rich says; “Come and join me for the highs and lows of farming cattle and sheep, along with growing a variety of crops for us and our animals to eat. Laugh with me, laugh at me, I don’t mind, just come and see how great British food is produced and why we do what we do.”
