Over to you boys – the ‘tups’ get busy with the ewes

My Grandad was a farmer and he always says to me that there’s no point ever worrying about the weather as there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it, so why worry?

As much as I have always agreed with him, this Autumn really has tested me with that optimism! I’ve never known such a wet Autumn and it’s made everything so much harder on the farm and my sympathies really are with those farmers who can’t get on their land because it’s so wet, I know the potato lads really have had an awful time over the last few weeks.

As we start to get towards the end of 2019, we need to start thinking about 2020 and the circle goes round again for another year. Lambing time will be here before we know it and in order for that to be a success next April, our tups (male sheep) have got a very important job to do!
