The countdown is ON! Less than 2 weeks to go until the new wee ones start arriving… my favourite time, and my most stressful time here in the barn. But, when I can stay ahead and get the clean up and set up jobs done before the first lamb drops, I feel so much more in control.
This video shows the process of cleaning out the barn, and the steps taken after to prepare and organize for the next lambing group.
On a side note. To all my friends in Ontario dealing with this relentless rain, my western friends dealing with drought, and my US friends dealing with flooding… I wish you nothing but well wishes, and prayers for a way out of this planting season… and a better, sunnier growing season.
NOTHING is more important than your health and well being. Please take care of yourself, and your fellow farmers. If you know someone who is struggling… reach out.
