Soft fruit and dairy farmer, Eamonn Crean, talks to Brendan Byrne about how his farm began and shares the lessons he’s learnt along the way.
Greenhill Fruit Farm is in Davidstown, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, Ireland. The plantations of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries comprise 24 acres of polytunnel fruit with a staff of up to 150 during the peak summer season.
Eamonn sells to supermarkets, hotels, restaurants and to all major agricultural shows. He also sells directly to consumers across the country via a network of roadside stands – where consumer feedback is essential.
